Clean Energy in New Mexico

In March 2019, New Mexico Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham signed Senate Bill 489, the Energy Transition Act, setting a zero-carbon standard for 2050. Through the Energy Transition Act, New Mexico will establish a pathway for a transition away from coal and carbon-based energy. The act also includes workforce training and transition assistance to communities that will be affected by reductions in carbon-based energy.
