Program Overview

San Juan County BRECC, led by Arrowhead Center and San Juan College, supports entrepreneurs and businesses in coal-impacted communities by providing training and resources to build new opportunities in agriculture, food, and related industries.

 

Eligibility

We serve students, entrepreneurs, and community members in San Juan County seeking career pathways or business growth in agriculture, food systems, and other industries that strengthen local economic resilience.

Building resilience and entrepreneurship in a coal community - san juan county resources for agriculture and food entrepreneurs

San Juan County BRECC

New Mexico State University’s (NMSU) Arrowhead Center, along with co-applicant San Juan College, are developing an initiative for the San Juan County region of New Mexico that offers customized assistance to entrepreneurs and businesses under the Building Resilience and Entrepreneurship in a Coal County (BRECC) project. Under the BRECC project Arrowhead Center and San Juan College facilitate the development and implementation of training programs for students and community members affected by the coal industry and looking for new career pathways in the food and agricultural industry.

Arrowhead Center's BizSprint San Juan is a FREE 6-week virtual business support program for food-related businesses, offering guided exploration of the Business Model Canvas, personalized resources, mentorship, and networking opportunities with industry experts to assist with business creation or growth.
