Innoventure App Design Challenge
The Innoventure App Design Challenge is a competitive event open to middle school youths (grades 6-8), high school youths (grades 9-12), and adults in the El Paso Electric service area.
The App Design Challenge will culminate in the creation of functional apps that promote sustainability, energy efficiency, and environmental conservation. Participants will select the environmental challenges they want to address with their apps. Issues of high interest and importance in El Paso and in southern New Mexico include efficient use of scare water sources, sustainable and efficient electric power use, high ozone levels, and reducing production of waste. Contest participants may develop apps on environmental stewardship topics that impact individuals, households, or employers of all sizes.
In April 2025, the finalists will present and demonstrate their apps during an event at NMSU. The event will be open to the public. Judges will assess each of the prototypes and select a winner from each group.
