Scale Up New Mexico
VentureFunding Sprint
VentureFunding Sprint is designed to empower New Mexico's tech startup founders with the knowledge and skills required to successfully raise capital. Over the course of six weeks, participants meet once a week to work on various aspects of fundraising, including understanding the terminology and instruments involved, negotiating with potential investors, and developing the tools and deliverables needed to attract investment.
By providing guidance and best practices, the program helps founders produce all the necessary documentation and materials investors need to assess an opportunity. With a focus on practical hands-on learning, this accelerator program equips founders with the tools and knowledge they need to secure the funding necessary to grow and scale their startup.
The Sprint Model
Each session is composed of two parts: a presentation from an expert in a specific aspect of fundraising, followed by a fire chat with an investor who provides real-world insights and feedback. During the presentation part of the session, the expert covers the key concepts and requirements related to fundraising such as the different types of investment instruments, valuation methods and term sheet negotiations. In the fire chat portion of the session, an investor is invited to join the discussion and provide valuable insights and feedback on the topics covered in the presentation. The investor brings a real-world perspective to the discussion, sharing their own experiences and providing guidance on how to prepare for successful fundraising.
