New Mexico State University’s Arrowhead Center will be continuing its free virtual camps for elementary and middle school students this summer. Camp Innoventure will take place in weekly sessions from July 12 to July 30.

Parents may choose the time for their students: half hour sessions run live from 12 to 12:30 p.m. and 2 to 2:30 p.m. daily. The same information will be offered each session. Each week, students will look at different types of industries, so students are welcome to join multiple weeks.

“This an activity that picks students up from the mid-summer slump, where they can be challenged and think about the ways they can contribute to the world,” said Lydia Hammond, Innoventure director and class instructor. “They will have different hands-on activities to connect with what we have talked about. If they complete all five activities, they will receive a digital certificate for being an Innoventurer.”

Daily topics include space, video games, restaurants and musical instruments. The class will be coordinated through the Canvas online program. Once students are registered, parents will be sent the Canvas sign up information and other notifications. Students will be able to see a recorded video of the lesson if they miss a day on Canvas.

Registration is free thanks to the generous support of the Daniels Fund and the Hunt Center for Entrepreneurship. To register, visit https://arrowheadcenter.org/program/innoventure/camp-innoventure/.
