The Las Vegas AgriBusiness Accelerator and Farm Incubator – a collective effort among NMSU’s College of Agriculture, Consumer and Environmental Sciences, Cooperative Extension Service and Arrowhead Center–combines the speed of startup boot camps and business development support with the physical infrastructure of farm land and greenhouses.

Arrowhead Center is proud to bring a unique ag-accelerator program to the entrepreneurial community of Las Vegas, New Mexico:

AgriBusiness Accelerator Las Vegas.

This program has 3 main goals:

To increase the supply and accessibility of locally produced food

To increase value-added AgriBusiness activity

To foster entrepreneurship, business development and job creation in Las Vegas and its surrounding communities.

AgriBusiness Accelerator & Farm Incubator

Tailored to the specific entrepreneurial ecosystem needs of Las Vegas, NM, and through the collaborative efforts of New Mexico State University’s Arrowhead Center and Cooperative Extension Service, AgriBusiness Accelerator Las Vegas will offer two valuable components for agri-food-based companies:



The AgriBusiness Accelerator is a 5-week business boot camp to help companies test the feasibility of their agri-food idea. 


  • Access to agri-food experts and free professional service providers
  • Up to $2,000 in participant support
  • Post-Accelerator access to continued business and technical advising for the life of the company
  • Academic and industry network connections
  • Up to $20,000 in Amazon Web Service Credits
  • NSF I-Corps lineage (an opportunity for a $50,000 grant)
  • Investment consideration for Arrowhead Innovation Fund

Farm Incubator

The Farm Incubator offers aspiring and beginning farmers an opportunity to establish their independent farm enterprises with on-site education, training, technical assistance, and mentoring in planning, financial management, production, and marketing best practices.

AgriBusiness Accelerator Requirements

  • Teams must include an Entrepreneurial Lead (EL), a Technical Lead (TL), and a Business Mentor (M). You don’t need a full team to apply, although preference is given to complete teams.
  • The Entrepreneurial Lead (EL) and business must be based in New Mexico.
  • Availability to attend one three-hour and four two-hour workshops virtually or in-person:
    • Spring 2020 Cohort will meet Friday mornings April 2nd, 2019-April 30th, 2019
  • To successfully complete AgriBusiness Accelerator, teams are expected to conduct thirty (30) interviews with potential customers for their product or service.
  • $2,000 participant support must be used to advance the participant’s business. Participant support will be awarded upon completion of AgriBusiness Accelerator.
  • Participants must have plans to sell their products or services outside New Mexico.
  • If the business is based on science, technology, engineering, or mathematics (STEM) or another topic normally supported by the National Science Foundation (NSF), eligibility can be granted for the NSF I-Corps team program. For more information about what NSF funds please visit:

Arrowhead Community Entrepreneurship Program

The Arrowhead Community Entrepreneurship Program’s (ACEP) goal is to level the playing field for all entrepreneurs, everywhere. To fuel and accelerate this goal, ACEP shares best practices, tools, staff time, networks and programs with NM community leaders to launch place-based accelerators. ACEP is currently partnered with the communities of Taos, Farmington, Deming and Las Vegas. Contact to express interest in becoming an ACEP site.
