BizSprint is an Arrowhead Accelerator program to launch successful businesses. The goal of this program is to accelerate New Mexico’s startups to drive economic growth. Through BizSprint you will receive mentorship, coaching and service providers through limited microgrants.


  • The business owner or entrepreneurial lead and business must be based in New Mexico.
  • To successfully complete BizSprint, teams are expected to conduct 15 customer interviews. Our instructor team will provide guidance to help you successfully complete this requirement.
  • Microgrants must be used to advance the participant’s business. Participant support will be awarded upon completion of BizSprint.


Reach a go or no-go decision for your project.

  • Follow-on support and mentorship through AIN Ventures.
  • If decision is go, project may receive eligibility for the National I-Corps program, which includes a $50,000 award.
  • Numerous follow-on funding opportunities, including eligibility to apply for investment from the Arrowhead Innovation Fund.

Del Mackey

Technology Transfer and Industry Engagement Manager

Del Mackey is the Technology Transfer and Industry Engagement Manager for Arrowhead Inc. In this role, Del works to build partnerships and relationships with external organizations that have research areas or growth initiatives that align with Arrowhead Center goals, either in moving NMSU IP to commercial markets or in serving the ever-expanding Arrowhead client network. Del comes to this position with extensive experience in innovation, fostering new products and initiatives at small businesses across New Mexico, matching technical prowess and capabilities with unique funding opportunities, and delivering workshops on meeting your commercialization needs. Over the past several years, Del has worked with over 90 companies to assist them in developing their innovative idea into a feasible product road map. Through his time at Arrowhead Center, and prior experience in the commercial market, Del has built relationships with numerous organizations, both large and small businesses and federal funding agencies, to help drive the economic/innovation ecosystem of the state of New Mexico.

He holds a Bachelors in Interdisciplinary Studies from National University, and an MBA from NMSU.

Kristin Morehead

Kristin Morehead

Economic Development Officer

Kristin Morehead manages the Arrowhead Innovation Network and the AIN Ventures program, assisting with research, production and implementation of projects, partnerships and initiatives conducted through Arrowhead that support entrepreneurship.  She also oversees NMSU’s role in the New Mexico Small Business (NSMBA) Program, in partnership with Los Alamos and Sandia National Laboratories.  Kristin holds a Master’s in Anthropology, and is pursuing a Ph.D. in Educational Leadership and Administration from NMSU.

Carlos Murguia

Carlos Murguia

Director of International Entrepreneurship Services

Carlos Murguia serves as Arrowhead Innovation Fund’s Associate Fund Manager, a general early stage seed fund that primarily focuses on New Mexico’s regional strengths in the agriculture, biotechnology, health/devices, information technology, engineering, energy, and water technology industry sectors.  He is responsible for overall program operations, including the development and implementation of business support programs and industry ecosystems to help startups maximize growth and success. Carlos also collaborates with the Technology and Commercialization Office, which protects, manages, and commercializes the creative products of New Mexico State University. Carlos recently completed the HBCUvc fellowship, a program that provides fellows with venture capital skills training, mentorship, and the opportunity to build professional relationships with seasoned investors and entrepreneurs. He earned a BS in Industrial Engineering from Tecnologico Nacional de Mexico, Campus Uruapan, a Masters of Science in Industrial Engineering from NMSU and a Yellow Belt Lean Six Sigma Certification from the Lean Six Sigma Institute. Carlos is a 2017 NMSU Outstanding Graduate awardee.

Dr. Becki Roan Graham

Dr. Becki Roan Graham

Senior Program Manager

Dr. Becki Roan Graham is a Senior Program Manager with Arrowhead Center, where she works on a variety of economic development research and writing activities. Becki has taught rhetoric, composition, and communication classes for NMSU and Dona Ana Community College for more than 10 years. She holds a B.A. in psychology, and M.A. in anthropology, and a Ph.D. in rhetoric and professional communication.

Isabella Pedicone

Isabella Pedicone

Program Specialist, Sr.

Isabella Pedicone is a Sr. Program Specialist for NMSU’s Arrowhead Center. Born and raised in Las Cruces, Isabella is an NMSU graduate and has a Bachelor’s of Business Administration with a major in Marketing. She worked in marketing for a leading, international metal-frame pool and inflatables manufacturing and distribution company based in Long Beach, CA. Later, she worked in product development for DirecTV Headquarters in El Segundo, CA, rolling out new products in Latin America. After returning to her beloved hometown of Las Cruces, she provided marketing services as part of a full-service marketing agency, Sinuate Media, LLC. At Arrowhead Center, Isabella is committed to helping establish and run accelerator programs that service entrepreneurs and further economic development in New Mexico and the borderplex region.
