Workforce Development
The purpose of workforce development at Arrowhead Center is to coordinate workforce development efforts done at the University,
regional, and state-wide level. In partnership with University Wide Cooperative Extension, Arrowhead Center’s goal is to design
and create a one-stop shop for workforce development at NMSU. Arrowhead evaluates, aligns, and prioritizes workforce development
clusters within the University, region, and State. Arrowhead then identifies workforce needs within those clusters and creates
a development plan to meet those needs.
University Wide Cooperative Extension and Arrowhead Center are teamed to develop and enhance workforce development programs throughout
New Mexico. Through county and state extension offices, we are able to reach rural communities and offer education programs and
economic and workforce development services. To learn more about the workforce development efforts underway at NMSU, please visit the
University Wide Cooperative Extension site at http://cahe.nmsu.edu.
In addition to Cooperative Extension, Arrowhead Center collaborates with institutions that award associates, bachelors, and graduate-level
degrees as well as organizations that provide technical training and professional development courses. Some organizations we have
worked with include:
- Dona Ana Community College (http://dabcc.nmsu.edu/)
- New Mexico Department of Labor (http://www.dol.state.nm.us/)
- New Mexico State Economic Development Department (http://www.edd.state.nm.us/)
- New Mexico Association of Community Colleges (http://www.nmacc.org/)
- New Mexico Public Education Department (http://www.ped.state.nm.us/)
