William Ash wins PaceIgnitions competition, names product

PaceIgnitions, founded by Mike Phelan, has developed a product that improves the safety of teenage motorists. This product allows parents to program the maximum desired speed, radius from home, and curfew hours for their teen driver. Any violations of these levels are logged by the product for parental review.
The only catch was the product did not have a name. Enter William Ash, an undergraduate in the NMSU Business College. Ash entered a competition funded by PaceIgnitions to find the perfect name and slogan for its new product. Ash swept the competition, winning both the name and slogan competitions. The winning name is “Steer Clear” and the slogan is “A kid’s focus can get blurred. Help them Steer Clear.”
Ash received a $50 prize for each entry and was recognized by Phelan on May 1, 2006.
