ABOUT THE PROGRAM
Innoventure Jr. is all about entrepreneurship. It is designed to introduce young children to the concepts of the exchange of money for products and services and to get them to recognize they each have skills and abilities that provide value to others and show them that they can take part in creating their own job – and jobs for others.
Created by educators, many of our activities are aligned with New Mexico Common Core Standards and built to fit into your curriculum for a one-day activity or a longer learning project. Each set of activities is age appropriate, but depending on each child, some help may be necessary from an adult.
PROTOTYPE CAPSTONE CONTEST DEADLINE EXTENDED!
Students all over New Mexico have a chance to see their ideas in the palms of their hands with Innoventure Jr.! The Innoventure Jr. National Entrepreneurship Week Capstone Contest is open to fourth- and fifth-grade students who have completed the new Innoventure Jr. classroom project. Teams can turn their product design into a small paper or cardboard model following these guidelines. First-place teams in each grade level will have their model scanned and 3-D printed at Arrowhead Center at New Mexico State University. It’s a trophy that’s totally unique! Entries must be received by April 30, 2018. Questions? Contact Amanda Bradford at email@example.com.
HOW TO PARTICIPATE
You can lead your students through the activity book specifically designed for their grade level. Innoventure Jr. materials are designed to be flexible and easy to adapt to your classroom.
Need some ideas for how to include our animated videos? We’ve designed an hour-long classroom project for any grade level and tested it out in local schools. It incorporates two of our animated videos and gets children working in teams and thinking of themselves as entrepreneurs.
All of our Innoventure Jr. activity books are available in PDF format, and they’re completely free! Just click on your grade-level below and enter your email address to request the entire collection for free. You can have your students download and complete the book on the computer or print out copies of the activity book and have the students write in their answers.
We do not receive any of the answers and there is no “grading” of these activities, but we do value your feedback! If you’re using Innoventure Jr. materials in your classroom, please let us know with a quick email to Innoventure Director Amanda Bradford at firstname.lastname@example.org or call her at 575-646-7148.
