The Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) has granted Arrowhead Center a $50,000 award to pilot the Young Entrepreneur Program (YEP), which helps students commercialize promising technology. The proposal was a collaborative effort between Arrowhead Center’s Dr. Kramer Winingham (PI), Aerospace & Mechanical Engineering’s Dr. Amit Sanyal (Co-PI), and Taylor Burgett, who is pursuing his Master’s in electrical engineering.   Wei Tang, assistant professor of electrical and computer engineering at New Mexico State University, is taking a cue from nature to devise the next generation of integrated low-power, wearable micro-devices.    The human brain inspired his approach in the novel design of a system of state-of-the-art miniaturized sensors that can detect, transmit and reliably process valuable data.

Arrowhead Park Development RFQ Responses Due March 11

Responses to the Arrowhead Park Development Partner Request for Qualifications (RFQ) are due by 2pm, on Wednesday March 11, 2015. Responses can be delivered in person or by mail to Arrowhead Center’s offices at 3655 Research Drive, Las Cruces, NM, 88003 on the New Mexico State University campus, or electronically to waynes@nmsu.edu.

The Information Meeting for the Arrowhead Park Development Partner RFQ will be held from 1-3pm at the NMSU Golf Course on Wimberley Drive.
A short driving tour of the Park will follow if requested by the meeting attendees.

Quikbite wins $50k NMSBA Leveraged Project Award

Studio G client Antonio Arredondo won a $50k Leveraged Project Award for the development of his new product for his company Quikbite.

Three Studio G clients make it into the Launch Program

Studio G client Taylor Burgett partnered with Dr. Amit Sanyal to win $5,000 and to commercialize Dr. Sanyal's attitude actuator technology for use in small satellites. 90% of satellite failure is caused by attitude actuator failure. Enhanced durability is a key feature of Dr. Sanyal's technology.
