As you’ve probably already heard, there are changes being made to the Facebook algorithms that will potentially effect the way that businesses can use Facebook to communicate with their followers. A few months ago, Facebook announced their new rules on engagement bait. Posts that say “tag a friend” or “share this post” will lead to those posts reaching less people and the pages that use engagement bait often to see a reduction in overall reach.
In addition to fighting engagement bait, Facebook is working to make sure that you only see the most relevant content in your newsfeed. Some might see this as Facebook just trying to get businesses to spend money on paid advertising by limiting their organic reach. Facebook, however, has given a different reason. Facebook says that the reason for these changes is that they would like to create an opportunity for accounts to create more meaningful and authentic content for their audience.
We are driven by innovating our reach and the reach of our clients. This new algorithm has given us the perfect opportunity to do just that.
