Application Process
If you have an innovative idea or would like to receive research assistance the staff at Arrowhead is ready to help. Due to a high demand for services , Arrowhead has a formal selection process. The Center can only accept a limited number of research projects per academic session; therefore, we ask our potential clients to follow our submission guidelines.
Step 1: Project Submission
The first step is to present your idea to the Arrowhead Center by submitting
a Project Submission Form. This simple form will help explain your
business concept and research needs.
Step 2: Review Process
Once the Project Submission Form has been submitted, the staff at
Arrowhead will evaluate each proposal on the basis of need, concept feasibility, and its
impact on New Mexico. This process will take place approximately two weeks before the start of each semester. You will be contacted when the
process is complete. If for any reason the Arrowhead Center cannot assist you, we will
provide you with alternative resources to aid in your endeavor.
Step 3: Interview
If you have successfully completed steps one and two, you will receive an invitation
to schedule an interview (teleconference, videoconference, or in-person) with the Business
Research Director, Project Manager, and research team. After the interview, the Arrowhead
Center will make a judgment on whether to accept or decline your proposed project. This does
not suggest that declined projects are not viable business opportunities; it simply means
that the Arrowhead Center has limited resources and cannot work on all projects. As in
step one, the Arrowhead Center will try to accommodate all clients by suggesting alternative
resources that may better suit their business needs.
Step 4: Acceptance
If you successfully complete the first three steps then Arrowhead will send you a
formal acceptance letter. The Arrowhead Center is now committed to providing you with the
best research assistant, research team, or graduate students the Center has to offer. Unless
otherwise specified, two weeks after your initial meeting with the student team, you will receive a proposal that includes a
scope of work, a list of deliverables and deadlines, and an estimated cost schedule for our
services.
